Dark

By Hanna Harrington

It was a dark, foggy night at Julia Landon. There was a storm and no one could go home. The wind was pounding against the windows; the rain was pelting down like bullets. Everyone was scared, even the adults. They had been there since 3pm, it was now 5.

“I’m so scared,” one student said. “When are we going to go home?” another asked. The teachers didn’t know what to say or do, they couldn’t possibly be there all day. They just waited and tried to be optimistic, however it was very hard to do that when the power suddenly went out around 7pm. Everyone went crazy, students were screaming and teachers started worrying. Nobody had a clue about why this was happening. Just earlier this day it was sunny and perfect weather; not a cloud in the sky. Now it just looks like a dark abyss outside.

The creature just waited, feasting on their fear. It thought, “it’s the perfect time of year for this. Today I shall feast until their bodies wither from fright.”

Later:

There were these 2 idiotic students who decided to go snooping around the school, since all the adults were scrambling around in the auditorium. There was this rumor going around that the school was haunted, and so these kids wanted to go check it out to see if the rumors were true. The students thought that it was all harmless fun, but little do they know that the haunting goes much deeper than they thought.

The students walked here and there and everywhere, but nothing happened. Until they reached the Janitor’s closet. They didn’t even know why they should check it out, I mean it’s just a Janitor’s closet. However, what they found startled them to their very bones. They found a body gushing out blood. It was very pale, almost like a smoky purple color. The students knew that the person was very much dead. Weirdly enough they didn’t report the death to the teachers. They knew they were going to get in trouble if they said that they were snooping around the school. So, what did they do? Nothing, absolutely nothing. They didn’t speak a word of this to anyone, not a soul. Since these students were teens, they decided to do something even more idiotic than not reporting the death. They decided to try and figure out how this person died, and who did it. While the students were talking about this (in whispers should you know), the creature silently watched them. This creature is called the Dark, it is every shadow and every dark sliver of the room. It is simply put, a demon.
