Lion Life interviewed Ms. Mayer, Landon’s media specialist, and she also helps get the alumni situated when they are planning to come or give a donation. She helps out with the alumni and coordinates what they do around the school.

We asked her, How do the Alumni contribute to Landon, and what do they do here?

“The Alumni raise money which contributes to items at school. They usually raise money for devices and electronics to improve technology at Landon. They even raised money for the marquee in front of the school for 20,000 to 30,000 dollars!”

Do the alumni support current Landon students and if so, how do they?

“They don’t directly support the current Landon students, but they do contribute towards the school as a whole. The last donation they gave to Mr. Casey was 4,000 dollars! He is finding a way to use the money to its fullest value, possibly for benches outdoors. The alumni are contributing in many beneficial ways towards the school.”

Are there any more interesting facts about alumni at Landon that have not been covered yet?

“There is a Legacy Hall in the office when you take a right. The legacy wall has lots of memories from the alumni from Landon. There are things like girls’ outfits for cheer, old albums, and yearbooks. These items were from a really long time ago. You should definitely check it out one day!” Wow! You saw how the alumni contribute to our school so much by donating money and even giving donations up to 30,000! And the alumni also have their own wall to themselves in the office. Thank you so much alumni for improving Landon!
