Everyone is ready for October. With multiple events, traditions, and sports coming up, people are booked for most of their week! But along with all of that, folks are ready to eat some of their comfort cultural food.

From China to Canada, these places all have their own unique cultural dishes! In China, people make a delicious sweet treat called mooncake. In Chinese culture, mooncakes represent the moon and family unity. As a fan of mooncakes myself, I absolutely agree with making mooncakes to celebrate the fall season. People enjoy this delight during the Mid-Autumn festival. People argue this is a MUST for the mid-autumn season.

In Germany, people celebrate the harvest season with Rouladen. Rouladen is a dream for people that enjoy eating meat. It is traditionally made with very thinly sliced beef that gets rolled around a savory bacon, onion, mustard, and pickle filling. After assembling the roll, it gets braised in a mouthwatering rich gravy. Along with Rouladen, they will most definitely have red cabbage, which is a super appetizing side dish consisting of vinegar, sugar, and spices. This food is usually eaten during Oktoberfest. Man, I want to go to Germany now!

Canada has foods similar to the US’. They eat Roast turkey and butter tarts. Butter tarts are the main attraction. It is known to be super rich and gooey. It is made using butter, sugar, and maple syrup. Along with the turkey and butter tart, Canadians will also enjoy some delicious sides like mashed potatoes, vegetables, and cranberry sauce. Canadians make this lovely food during Thanksgiving.

In the Philippines, people enjoy a pleasant dish called Lechon. Lechon is usually a whole pig, but recently people have been replacing it with a slab of pork belly. It has a crispy skin, but it has tender and juicy meat. People like to enjoy Lechon with vegetables. Lechon is eaten during the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival. During the festival, lechon is a main food everyone enjoys.

During the festival of Sukkot, they eat many stuffed foods. These foods can be stuffed cabbage, stuffed peppers, stuffed grape leaves, etc. This festival has a lot of stuffed foods that are eaten when they celebrate. A staple food of Sukkot is challah. It is this absolutely delicious bread that is slightly sweetened. People relish the delicious foods during this festival. During the autumn season, cultures all over the world have their own delights. Some may be sweet, while others may be savory. No matter the taste, it is eaten by people for their traditions.
